Obituary

WORCESTER-Edward J. Collins, 61, of 55 Oakwood Ln. died Sat., April 9 in St. Vincent Hospital. He leaves two daughters, Kerriann M. Collins of Worcester and Pamelyn J. Collins of Quincy; his former wife, Joan M. (Contois) Collins of Worcester; a brother, Lawrence E. Collins of Worcester; two sisters, Diane M. Markowski and Patricia L. Collins both of Worcester; three nieces and three nephews.

He was born in Worcester son of Edward J. and Marion (Flynn) Collins and lived here all his life. He attended Commerce High School and graduated from Worcester Junior College. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the Army. Mr. Collins was a general manager for 25 years at Ameripride Linen and Apparel Service formerly known as American Linen. Ed was a member of the Auburn Elks #2118, Auburn Knights of Columbus #4158, Quinsigamond American Legion Post #318 and loved visiting Ireland and researching his heritage.

The funeral will be Wednesday, April 13 from the CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 12 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Boston Shriners Hospital, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
