Obituary

Joyce Gloria Flynn, age 61, died after a short illness at University Commons, Plantation St., Thursday, April 07, 2005.

Born in Worcester, daughter of Jeremiah T. and Frances I. (Haley) Flynn Sr., and is survived by her sister, Carole Coakley of Worcester, three brothers: Jeremiah T. Flynn Jr. and his wife Carol of Worcester, Daniel S. Flynn and his wife Cindy of Westminster, Dennis M. Flynn and his wife Carol of Oxford and eighteen nieces and nephews.

Joyce was a former resident of Wrentham State School for the Retarded and lived for many years at Probus House, Independent Living, on Claremont Street. Until her retirement, she was employed in the occupation therapy center at the Seven Hills Foundation.

Joyce survived a difficult infancy to live a happy and long life, assisted by family and friends, and many dedicated employees of state and private agencies that assist the mentally retarded.

Joyce was affable, quick to laugh, loved dancing, music and made friends easily. She was an avid Special Olympic bowler.

Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., from 9-10 a.m, Sat., April 9, followed by a funeral service. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
