Obituary

WORCESTER- Alexander J. Bialecki, 83, of 58 Ernest Avenue, a World War II veteran and retired firefighter, died Saturday, April 27th, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center, after an illness. His wife, Harriet (Shyp) Bialecki, died in 1983. He leaves 2 sons, Paul A. Bialecki of Chatsworth, Calif., and Richard P. Bialecki of Worcester; a daughter, Janice Giles of Avon, Conn.; a brother, Theodore Bialecki of Worcester; 2 grandsons; nephews and nieces.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Peter and Sophie (Panasiewicz) Bialecki, and lived here most of his life. He graduated from Commerce High School and Worcester Boys Trade School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.Mr. Bialecki had been a firefighter for 30 years, retiring as captain in 1975. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and the Worcester County Firefighters Association. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, and had built his own home. In his youth, he was an accomplished bodybuilder, having won numerous competitions and featured in a Health & Fitness magazine.

The funeral will be held at 9 AM Wednesday, May 1st, from O'Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Ave., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, April 30th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
