Damon A. Borges, 55, of New Bedford died April 2, 2005 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Evelyn (Andrade) Reis and the late Leon Borges, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Mr. Borges served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart medal for wounds received in action and the National Defense Service medal.
Having no children of his own, Damon was always a devoted uncle to all of his nieces and nephews and a very special brother.
Survivors include 3 brothers, Wayne Reis of New Orleans, Gerald Reis of New Hampshire and Juan Ortiz of Boston; 2 sisters, Antoinette Lopes of New Bedford and Leslie Ann Lee of Florida; and several nieces and nephews including Charles "Tre" Lopes, who was like his son.
He was the brother of the late Kenneth Borges, Leon Borges, Ashley Borges and Kim Reis.
His Funeral Service will be private.
