Obituary

Emanuel T. Fortuna, known to family and friends as “Manny”, passed away suddenly at his home. The husband of Louise (Fuccillo) Fortuna for the past forty-six years, he was seventy-one years old.

Born and raised in Boston, he was the son of the late Carmela (Mello) and Salvatore Fortuna. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War, and a member of VFW Post 1012 of Medford. Manny retired in 1987 from postal service, working in Malden and Medford for over thirty years, a Medford resident for many years, he has made his home in Stoneham for the last sixteen years.

Manny was also recognized by a Stoneham newspaper, as Stoneham's "Hero of the Month" for his unselfishness to his neighbors and community.

Surviving in addition to his wife Louise, are three sons, Manny V. Of Braintree, Michael A. Of Colorado, and Richard C. Of Amesbury, One Daughter Debra A. Fortuna of Everett. A brother Joseph Fortuna of Tewksbury,

His funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, on Wednesday May 1, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church 71 Warner St. Medford/Somerville at 10. Services will conclude with burial at st. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.Visiting hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
