WORCESTER-Elizabeth F. “Fran” Cassidy, 77, of 5 Suburban Road, died Tuesday, April 5th in Memorial Hospital after an illness. She leaves a brother, Robert J. Cassidy of Clinton, 2 sisters, Irene I. wife of Norman B. Stanikmas, Sr. of Worcester and M. Katherine Loughlin of Worcester, a sister-in-law, Shirley M. Cassidy of Worcester, several nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces. A brother, John B. Cassidy and a sister, Doris M. Stuart predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of John J. and Margaret V. (Kelleher) Cassidy, graduated from South High School and attended Worcester State and Assumption Colleges. Ms. Cassidy worked at Crompton & Knowles as an executive secretary for many years. Later she worked in the office of financial aide at Worcester State College for many years, until her retirement. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church, a member of the Franciscan Third Order, Formerly with St. Clare’s Fraternity, Holy Name Province. Mrs. Cassidy was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles.
The funeral is Saturday, April 9th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, April 8th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
