Eva Nell Sheppard Davis, 76, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at Tift Regional Hospital in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, April 8, 2005 at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald with Elder Jimmy Bedingfield and Elder Maurice Riner officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7-9 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Davis was born January 13, 1929, in Dodge County, Georgia, to the late Charles S. and Annie Lee Spinks Parker. She was formerly employed as a seamstress with H.R. Kaminsky & Sons and SWS Garment. She was also a former employee of Lowell Packing Company. Mrs. Davis was a member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Cook County, Georgia. She enjoyed gospel music, writing poetry, working puzzle books, clogging, making angels and doing crafts. She always loved cooking for and entertaining her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by a multitude of family and friends.
Mrs. Davis is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Lamar & Mary Sheppard of Tifton and Charles “Butch” & Elaine Sheppard of Bonaire; two daughters and a son-in-law: Janet & Ray Hill of Gibsonville, NC and Marsha Sheppard of Fitzgerald; six grandchildren: Steve (Phyllis) Sheppard and Judy (Johnny) Richardson, all of Villa Rica, Theresa (Andy) Mansukhani of Stafford, VA, Melissa (Roger) Usry of Leesburg, Michael (Sheila) Sheppard of Littleton, CO, and David (June) Sheppard of Pensacola, FL; sixteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two husbands: H.S. “Shep” Sheppard and Harley Davis as well as five brothers and four sisters.
