Skyler William Sampson, 20, of Louisville, died June 21st, 2015 as a result of injuries sustained during a motor vehicle accident. He was born December 19th, 1994 in Geneva, Illinois to Ryan and Leann (Volberding) Sampson. Skyler attended school at J-Town High School. He was currently a waiter at IHOP.
Skyler will always be remembered as a caring individual with a big heart and an even bigger smile. His family would describe him as a man who loved life, lived it to the fullest, and was going to do it his own way. Everyone knew when Skyler walked into the room because of his big, bright, and loving personality. Although his family can’t speak for all the lives that he has touched, they are honored to have learned that he was a selfless member of society – always seeking ways to help others in need.
Skyler was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather William Sampson and his maternal grandmother Dallas Volberding. Skyler is survived by his parents Ryan and Leann Sampson of Louisville; his brothers J.B. Reichwein, Jared Reichwein, and Joshua Sampson; his sisters Jessica Vogel and Elise Hoff. He also leaves his maternal grandparents Ron and Laurel Volberding and his paternal grandmother Dorma Sampson. He is also survived by a host of close friends in Louisville, KY and Durand, Il.
A celebration of the life of Skyler William Sampson will be held on June 25, 2015 at Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. 9318 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, KY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider donations to the Louisville Zoo as Skyler always demonstrated great love and concern for all animals.
