BOREN - H. Allan Boren, 62, of Nahunta, GA passed away June 20, 2015 at Mayo Clinic in Waycross, GA.
He was born March 15, 1953 in Deland, FL and moved to Nahunta a few years ago from Yulee, FL.
Mr. Boren enjoyed the outdoors, reading (especially about Civil War history) and attending the Civil War Battlefield Re-enactment at Olustee, FL. He also coached girls' softball at the Yulee Athletic Association. He served in the U. S. Army National Guard where he received an Honorable Discharge. He was a devoted Father and Grandfather and never forgot their yearly birthday song.
Mr. Boren was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Sammye Peters and by a brother, Eddie Ray Boren.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Julie Boren, of Nahunta, GA; four daughters, Amie Smith (Jimmy) of Jacksonville, FL, Kathy Boren of Bedford, TX, Kristen Sweetman (Matt) of Yulee, FL, and Audrey Boren of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Robert Boren (Vicki) of Jacksonville, FL and Jay Boren of Lake City, FL; a sister, Karen Hathaway (Art) of Edgewater, FL; his mother in law, Darlene Hopwood of Middleburg, FL; six grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Amber Bethel, Alyssa Smith, Kaleb Boren, Alaina Boyette and Mattix Sweetman; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
