New Bedford-Irene (Labrie) Casey died March 29, 2005 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of George Casey. She was the mother of Patricia Messier of Westport, and the late Margaret Ann Freitas. She was the loved grandmother of Edward J. Freitas of Fairhaven, Vicki Parsons of Delaware, Daniel C. Freitas, Douglas Messier of New Bedford, Brian D. Freitas of New Bedford, She was the sister of Gerald LaBrie of Fairhaven. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Casey was the daughter of the late Amedee and Elise (Saulnier) LaBrie. She lived in this area all her life. She was a Nurses Aide with several local nursing homes. She was a member of the Oxford Senior Citizens were she was known as “The Sunshine Lady”, she was an avid doll collector.
Religious Service will be Monday April 4, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. officiating will be Rev. Bob Oliveira. Visiting Hours will be Sunday April 3, 2005 from 3 - 6 P.M. and Monday April 4, 2005 at 10 A.M. prior to the services at The Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St.
