Obituary

F. Earle Clark died on March 29th in Largo, Pinellas County, FL after a long illness. The 88 year old was born April 30, 1916 to the late Richmond Tobey Clark and Eliza (English) Clark.
He was the husband of Helen (Pressey) Clark.
At the start of World War II ,he left the photography business to work for the Signal Corps and began his lifelong career in electronic crystal manufacturing. In 1946, after the war, he formed his own company, Clark Crystal Co. in Marlboro, MA where he produced innovative crystal communication components in critical projects that included the NIKE and Sparrow missiles. Because of his international reputation, he was hired to consult for crystal plants in Greece, Norway, Denmark, Ireland and other countries.
Upon his retirement he moved to Mattapoisett, MA where he was a member of the Mattapoisett Congregational Church and later settled in Florida where he joined the Church of the Isles in Largo.
Mr. Clark was 32nd degree Mason and Shriner initially in Boston and later in Mattapoisett.
He joined the Mayflower Society, thru John Alden and became involved in researching his ancestors.
Mr. Clark leaves his wife of 66 years, a son, Stephen Earle Clark of Edina, MN; 2 daughters, Susan Stern of Largo, FL and Whitingham, VT and Shirlee Neil of Southbury, CT He also leaves 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late Willard and John Clark.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service at the Mattapoisett Congregational Church, Saturday at 2 PM. Visiting hours are omitted.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the employee fund at Oak Manor Nursing Home, 3600 Oak Manor Lane, Largo, FL 33774 or to the aforementioned churches.
