TEWKSBURY - Mary B. (Brewster) Dewing, age 92, a resident of Tewksbury for the past seven
decades, died Tuesday evening, March 29, at the Blairehouse of Tewksbury after a long period of
declining health. She was the wife of the late Elmer A. Dewing, who died in 1974.
She was born in Haverhill, on October 14, 1912, a daughter of the late Fred and Marion (Tapley)
Brewster. She had lived in Tewksbury for the past 71 years.
She retired from Tewksbury Hospital after 27 years of service as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
She is survived by two sons, Elmer A. “Joe” Dewing of Brookline, NH, and Henry Dewing of
Tewksbury; a daughter, Mary A. Dewing of Tewksbury, three grandchildren, and several great
grandchildren.
She was the remaining sibling of five children.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday, April 2, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Tewksbury Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday evening 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
