Waymon H. Walker, 69, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 2, 2005, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Rev. James Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00, Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Walker was born May 24, 1935, in Wheeler County, Georgia, to the late Maryland and Minnie Lee Lowie Walker. He lived in the community most of his life and was a former resident of Savannah, Alamo and McRae. Mr. Walker served in the United States Army and in the Georgia National Guard. He was the former owner/operator of Walker Lock & Key Services and Walker Gun Shop and a former carpenter with Roanoke Construction Company and Dunn Construction Company. Mr. Walker was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and of the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Walker is survived by his wife: Myrtleen Mathews Walker of Fitzgerald; son and daughter-in-law: David and Mary Linda Walker of Fitzgerald; daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and Paul Hester of Waterloo; grandchildren and spouse: Chris and Krista Walker, Maria Hester, Whitley Walker, Jacob Walker and Adam Hester; great-grandson: Nathan Walker. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
