Obituary

WEST BRIDGEWATER - Irene F. (LaRue) Wipperman, 97, of West Bridgewater died Monday at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Elmer C. Wipperman.

Born July 25, 1907, in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Marie Latender.

Mrs. Wipperman grew up in Boston and graduated from Boston schools.

She had been a resident of West Bridgewater for the past 35 years, coming from Canton.

Mrs. Wipperman was a verse writer for Rust Craft Cards, and at one time, she worked as a secretary for a doctor’s office.

She was a former member of the Canton Art Assoc., and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, mineral collecting, cooking and baking.

Mrs. Wipperman also took art courses at the Museum School in Boston.

She is survived by her daughter, Elene L. Turner and her husband William Turner Jr. of West Bridgewater; her son, Paul R. Wipperman of West Bridgewater; three grandchildren, Laurie Curran, Michelle Fusco and Glenn Turner; three great-grandchildren, Morgan Turner, Jason Fusco and Nicole Fusco.

Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rt. 18), Bridgewater.

Visiting hours are Thursday 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
