Obituary

New Bedford – Mary R. (Lucas) Lackie, 50, of New Bedford died Sunday, March 27, 2005 unexpectedly at home.

Mrs. Lackie was born in East Freetown, daughter of the late John E. “Bud” and Mary E. (Potter) Lucas and was a lifelong resident of New Bedford. She was a taxi cab driver for various cab companies in the area. She enjoyed crocheting, owl collecting and antique collecting.

She is survived by a son: Eric P. Lucas of Ohio; 5 daughters: Lisa M. Nogueira of North Dartmouth, Sabrina A. DeCambra of Fall River, Samantha L. Fuller of Maine, Angela L. DeCambra of Ohio and Tabatha L. DeCambra of Maine; 2 brothers: John E. Lucas, Jr. of New Bedford and Warren Lucas of Florida; 2 sisters: Claire Housewright of New Bedford and June Lackie of Maine; 7 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was sister of the late Alan Lucas.

Funeral services Thursday, March 31, 2005 at the Kirby Funeral Home, 61 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford at 10:00 A.M.

Interment will be in Reynolds Cemetery, Freetown.
