John M. Luppi, died Saturday evening at the Somerville Hospital, after a long illness. He was 81.
A life-long Medford resident, John was the son of the late Mario and the late Norma (Casarini) Luppi. After graduating Medford High School, John embarked on a 30-year career as an engineer with Honeywell Corporation. An active member of Sacred Heart Parish, John assisted there as a sexton during his retirement.
The beloved husband of Doris (Davoli), John was a devoted father to Joanne Blanchette and her husabnd Scott, Karen Spatola and her husband John, Christopher Luppi, all of Medford, Kenneth Luppi and his wife Diane of Tewksbury. He was a loving grandfather to Scott and Robert Azzalina, Mark and Brian Spatola, Benjamin and Sara Luppi, Megan, Matthew and Allison Luppi. He was a dear brother to Mary Gallo and her husband Joseph of Medford, Frank Luppi and his wife Irene of Dedham.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 186 Highland Avenue, Somerville, MA 02143.
