Obituary

YORK, ME—Dorothy M. (Crossley) Long, 97 years old, died early Wednesday morning at the York Hospital Rehabilitation Center, in York, ME. She was the wife of the late Allen W. Long.

She was born in Lowell, on April 2, 1907, a daughter of the late Tom and Alice (Mitchell) Crossley, and was a graduate of the Lowell Public School System. She had been employed as a Bookkeeper at the former King’s Department Store, in Lowell. She was a member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church.

Surviving her are a granddaughter: Joanne, and her husband Gary Smith, of York, ME; three nieces: Carol Barbera, of Lowell; Alison Santos, of Granby; and Gail Talbot, of Pelham, NH; one nephew: Donald Crossley, of Pelham, NH; a sister-in-law: Mary Crossley, of Lowell; also several grand nieces and grand nephews.

She was the mother of the late Edward Long, and sister of the late Edward P. and Charles W. Crossley.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, MArch 28th, at 12 noon at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38), Lowell. Calling hour one hour prior to service. Burial in the Lowell Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Window Fund of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church; 8 Kirk Street; Lowell, MA 01852.
