Millbury - Edward M. Loftus, 63, of 403 Greenwood Street died Wednesday April 24 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus after an illness.
He leaves his wife Lorraine (Myers) Loftus of Millbury; a son Edward M. Loftus Jr. of Sturbridge, MA; two daughters Kathy Loftus of Worcester and Kelly Martin of North Oxford; a step-daughter Michelle Brewer of Holden; a brother John loftus of Portsmouth, NH; four sisters Patricia Doherty of Plymouth, Ann Hakala of Zephyrhills, FL, Marilyn Bondanza of Glendale, AZ and Nancy Thompson of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Mr. Loftus is predeceased by a brother Thomas Loftus of Worcester. He was born in Worcester son of Thomas J. and Helen (O'Gorman) Loftus.
Mr. Loftus is a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He worked as a mason for over 35 years with the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman Local 6 retiring in 1998.
Mr. Loftus was a member of St. Brigid's Church, the Disabled American Veterans and the V.F.W. Southworks Post in Worcester. He also enjoyed golfing.
The funeral will be held on Friday April 26 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond St. Worcester with a mass at 10 AM in St. Brigid's Church 59 Main St. Millbury. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held on Thursday April 25 from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
