Marilyn Jeanise (Middleton) Ferguson Merten
Dec. 21, 1955 - June 13, 2015

Marilyn Jeanise (Middleton) Ferguson Merten, 59, of Anderson died unexpectedly at her residence June 13, 2015.

She was born December 21, 1955 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Norman and Dorothy (Hunter) Middleton.

She was a Secretary for Church of God Ministries for 20 years until February of 2015.

She was a member of East Side Church of God since attending Anderson College, where she graduated in 1978 and was a part of the Camarada Social Club while there. She loved singing in the church choir for 20+ years, helping with the church prison ministry group, crocheting and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 6 years, Michael Merten of Anderson whom she married October 18, 2008 in Saratoga, IN; mother, Dorothy Middleton of Auburn, IN; mother-in-law, Donel Merten of Houston, TX; daughter, Kristina Ferguson ( boyfriend, Nathan Stoltz) of Indianapolis; five step-children, Cindy (Dallas) Wagner of TN: Jill Ferguson of MO; Nelson (Gaby) Merten of Austin, TX; David (Renee) Merten of Floresville, TX; Lisa (Ron) Narum of Sugarland, TX; three brothers, Howard Middleton, of El Campo, TX; David (Julie) Middleton, of Navarre, FL; Daniel (Linda) Middleton of Auburn, IN; sister, Marlene (Keith) Kaufman of Niles, MI; four step-grandchildren, Ixchel Merten; Dylan Merten, Luke Merten and Chloe Nevarez-Smith; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; first husband, Alfred Ferguson; two brothers, Darrell Middleton and Kenneth Middleton.

Services will be 12 noon on Thursday, June 18, at East Side Church of God with Dr. Fred Meadows officiating along side her brother, Rev. Howard Middleton. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service and Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
