Obituary

WEBSTER – Jeannette B. Baker of 3 Day Street, a retired supervisor in the Lens Division at American Optical Company for many years, died Monday, March 21, in Webster Manor.

She leaves a brother, Raymond A. and his wife Ruth K. Baker of Irving, TX; a nephew, Ronald and his wife Carol Baker of Dallas, TX; a niece, Renee and her husband David Bagley of Moraga, CA; 8 grandnephews and grandnieces, Keith, Cara, Benjamin and Maryann Baker and Forrest, Cameron, Noah and Sydney Bagley. A brother Normand died in 1970.

Miss Baker was born in Webster, the daughter of Alfred and Rose Baker.

A communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Miss Baker was a member of the liturgy committee since its inception, a Eucharistic minister, a lector, and an adorer at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at the Emmaus Center. She was a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne. For many years, Miss Baker was an Associate Member of the Sisters of Saint Ann.

At one time, Miss Baker was the owner of Baker Realty. She graduated from Saint Ann’s Academy and the New England School of Accounting, and also attended Clark University. In recognition of her outstanding spirit of generosity in dedicating many hours of volunteer service to the Dudley District Court, she was the recipient of an official citation from the State Senate, Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The funeral will be held Thursday, March 31, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Calling hours are from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Wednesday, March 30, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of Saint Ann Retirement Fund, 720 Boston Post Road, Marlboro, MA 01752, or to Saint Ann’s School, 12 Day St., PO Box 818, Webster, MA 01570-0818
