Auburn – Edmond H. Daniel, 96, of Auburn and formerly of Worcester died on Thursday March 24 in Saint Vincent Hospital after an illness.
Mr. Daniel is survived by his wife of 75 years Olive (Bergeron) Daniel; two sons Edmond J. Daniel of Auburn, and John H. Daniel of Benton City, WA; a daughter Olive T. Brown of Auburn; 6 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. Mr. Daniel was born in Webster, MA son of Henry and Sadie (St. Denis) Daniel and is predeceased by 6 brothers and a sister. He lived in Worcester for most of his life before moving to Auburn 15 years ago.
Mr. Daniel worked as the foreman of the shipping department for the former Melville Shoe Co. in Worcester for 46 years before retiring in 1973.
He enjoyed bingo, and day trips to Foxwoods. Mr. Daniel worked as a volunteer at the Holy Name of Jesus Church Bingo and the Pakachoag Village Bingo. He was also very active in the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
The funeral will be held on Monday March 28 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond St. Worcester with a mass at 11 AM in North American Martyrs Church 8 Wyoma Dr. Auburn. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling period will be held from 9 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home on Monday March 28.
