Francis (Frank) A. Grenier, Jr. 83, a longtime Dedham resident.
DEDHAM - Francis (Frank) A. Grenier, Jr. 83, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro after a short illness.
He was the beloved husband of Kathleen M. (Costello) Grenier; devoted father to Kathleen G. Johnson of Boylston and Margaret A. Ross of Attleboro with whom he lived; caring grandfather to Catherine, Joanna, and Matthew Ross, and Emily and Elizabeth Johnson; loving uncle to Kevin W. Costello of North Andover, Kerry A. and Eileen Costello of Jamaica Plain, Mary M. Connolly of Dedham, the late Patricia Michienzie (deceased), and his entire extended family.
Born in Boston, raised in Dorchester the son of the late Francis A. and Margaret A. (Cullinane) Grenier. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. He was a graduate of Boston Latin School and Harvard University. He was an accomplished pianist performing with the Parkway Concert Orchestra. He worked for the former Shawmut Bank for over 25 years and as a Real Estate Agent for Walley Real Estate in Dedham retiring many years ago.
Frank was a long-time resident of Dedham's Oakdale section and devoted parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Dedham. He served on the Dedham Finance Committee for several years. An avid golfer and traveler, he especially enjoyed time at home watching sports, playing card games, and hosting family gatherings.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Monday at 9 am. Funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham, at 10 am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Sunday from 4-7 pm. Burial will be the family lot in Old Calvary Cemetery, Roslindale.
