
WORCESTER-Robert J. Lambert, 97, of the Goddard House, 1199 Main Street, formerly of 4 Wyola Drive, died Thursday, March 24th in Saint Vincent Hospital after a very short illness. He leaves his wife of 76 years, Teresa R. (Gilligan) Lambert, a son, Robert J. Lambert, Jr. and his wife Constance M. of Worcester, a daughter, Janice M. wife of William H. Torpey of Austin, TX, a brother, Wilfred Lambert of Warwick, RI, 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 5 nephews and nieces. His sister, Olive Bodreau predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester the son of Albert and Julia (Roberts) Lambert and attended Worcester schools. Mr. Lambert was a food broker for 50 years most recently working for the Food Merchandise Company in Canton, until retiring in 1977.
The funeral is Monday, March 28th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, March 27th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
