Lawrence R. Crowley, Sr., 77, of Derry, NH, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005 in the VA Medical Center, Manchester. Mr. Crowley was born in Cambridge, MA on March 15, 1928, a son of the late Dennis and Julia (McHugh) Crowley. He was a resident of Derry for 25 years, formerly living in Florida. He worked for General Motors Corp for 19 years and was later the owner of Crowley Chevrolet in Newport, NH for a number of years. Mr. Crowley served in the Merchant Marines, US Navy and the Naval Reserves. He served during WWII and the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant Commander. The family of Mr. Crowley would like to say a special thank you to all the caring staff at the VA Nursing home.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Shea) Crowley of Derry, two sons, Lawrence R. Crowley, Jr. of Derry, Dennis J. Crowley of Chester, NH, one daughter, Ann E. Crowley of Hooksett, one grandson, John P. Crowley of Chester, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter Patricia M. Crowley and one son John P. Crowley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday March 29th at 10:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Crystal Avenue, Derry. Burial will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry. Friends may call on Monday from 6 - 9pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry.
