Obituary

Napoleon H. "Nap" Demers, 77, of New Bedford died Wednesday March 23, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Florence A. (Sitarz) Demers.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Adhemar and Eva (Gratton) Demers and Angelina (LeClair) Demers, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.

He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in New Bedford. He was a graduate of Holy Family High School and attended Northeastern University.

Mr. Demers was formerly employed by Revere Copper & Brass as a paymaster for many years until his retirement.

An avid golfer, he was a member of the Reservation Golf Club. He was a volunteer at the New Bedford Visitors Center and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Damien Council. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Marie Kelfer and her husband Michael of Sherborn, and Susan Demers of Brookline; a son, William Demers of Providence, Rhode Island; and three grandchildren, Holly Kelfer, Jenna Kelfer, and Riley Kelfer.

He was the brother of the late Raymond Demers.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday March 29, 2005 at 10 AM in St. Mary's Church, Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery will be private. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Mary's Church, 106 Illinois St., New Bedford, MA 02745 or to the charity of one's choice.
