Obituary

TEWKSBURY: John P. Howe, age 59, a resident of Tewksbury for over 30 years, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 19, 2005, while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
He was the husband of Dorothy J. (Sullivan) Howe with whom he celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on November 14th.
Born in Medford on November 8, 1945, he was the son of the late Patrick and Gladys (Graham) Howe.
Mr. Howe was the foster child and was raised by the late Joseph and Catherine Calnan of Wilmington.
He attended Wilmington and Medford Schools. Mr. Howe was graduated from the Somerville Vocational School in 1963.
Following graduation he enlisted in the Massachusetts Army National Guard. He served with Company C, 1st 220th Infantry Battalion and was honorably discharged on January 4, 1966.
Prior to his retirement in 2001, he was employed for 10 years as a truck driver by Local # 379 of Boston. Mr. Howe previously worked as a truck driver for Local # 25.
He was resident of Tewksbury since 1970 and was a communicant of Saint Williams Parish.
Mr. Howe was a member of the Tewksbury-Wilmington Lodge of Elks # 2070.
He enjoyed many activities especially, fishing, traveling, lawn care, gardening, driving his 1927 Ford Model A and attending antique car shows.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters; Donna Beaulieu and her husband Michael of Beverly and Dorinda Niven of Lowell and her husband Peter Niven of Tewksbury; 3 grandchildren; Lindsey and Austin Beaulieu of Beverly and Richard Travers of Lowell; 2 sisters; Rosemary (Calnan) Parker and her husband Jay of Billerica and Ann (Calnan)Gilardi and her husband Dana of Wilmington; 2 brothers; Robert Howe and his wife Barbara of Medford and Paul Calnan of Townsend; 1 brother-in-law; Robert Sullivan and his wife Debbie of Medford.
Mr. Howe was the brother of the late Kathleen (Calnan) Boudreau, Cathy, James and Joseph Calnan.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 27th from 5-9 p.m. at the FARMER & DEE FUNERAL HOME, 16 LEE ST., TEWKSBURY. Funeral Monday, March 28th at 9 a.m. from the funeral home. Funeral Mass Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 are requested.
