Obituary

Mathra N. (Moquin) Duval, 71, of Dartmouth died Tuesday March 22, 2005 at Mariner Healthcare of Southeastern Massachusetts. She was the wife of Arsene G. "Gus" Duval.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, the daughter of the late Edna F. Moquin, she had lived in New Bedford for most of her life before moving to Dartmouth 10 years ago.

Mrs. Duval was formerly employed as a school teacher in the New Bedford Public School System.

She was a graduate of New Bedford High School and Bridgewater State College.

Mrs. Duval was active as a CCD teacher at Sacred Heart Parish and was a member of the Sacred Heart Choir.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Tommy Duval, and his wife Maria, of Franklin; four daughters, Denise Gillis, and her husband Bill, of Brockton, Jackie Cote, and her husband J.P., of Millbury, and Andrea Oliver, and her husband Jeff, and Mimi Bateman, all of Fairhaven; and 18 grandchildren.

She was the mother of the late Marcelle P. Lambert.

Her Funeral Liturgy and Final Commendation will be held on Friday March 25, 2005 at 9 AM in Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Visiting hours at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford,Thursday March 24, 2005 from 4-8 PM. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265.
