New Bedford – David L. Santos, 41, of New Bedford died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at home after a long illness.
He was born in New Bedford, son of Cynthia A. (Grace) Santos of New Bedford and the late Manuel J. Santos, and was a lifelong resident of New Bedford. Prior to illness he worked for Ames Department Store, Braintree. Mr. Santos was a member of the Consumer Advisory Board of the Greater New Bedford Community Health Center. Mr. Santos attended First Church of the Nazarene, New Bedford. He enjoyed cooking and loved to spend time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
Including his mother, he is survived by his maternal grandmother Anna (Lopes) Grace of New Bedford; a daughter: Debra Hayes of Providence, RI; a brother: Curtis W. Grace and his wife Kim of Wareham; 4 sisters: Rosemarie Miranda of Boston, Cheri C. Santos of New Bedford, Shelley A. Santos of Fairhaven and Tammy M. Souto of New Bedford; 2 uncles: James Grace of New Bedford and Raymond Santos of Chicago; 6 aunts: Betty Ann Fernandes of New Bedford, Brenda Duarte of New Bedford, Sharon Magnett of New Bedford, Donna Grace of New Bedford, Mary Battles of Mattapan, MA and Sylvania Vieira of Wareham; 2 godchildren: Jared Santos of New Bedford and Byron Pina of New Bedford; a best friend: Jay O. Keefe of Cambridge; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was the grandson of the late Christian J. Grace and the nephew of the late Minnie Pires.
