John G. Short of Westwood died March 20, 2004 at his home. He was 72. Mr. Short was born in Boston and was the son of the late Paul and Mary (Devlin) Short. A Korean War Veteran, he worked as a Quality Control Manager at Polaroid Corp. Mr. Short retired in 1998. He has lived in Westwood for 40 years.
He was the beloved husband of Beverly (Tranfaglia) Short. Devoted father of Joseph M. Short and his wife Sylvia of Framingham, Mary C. McCarthy of Westwood, and John G. Short Jr. of Foxboro. Loving grandfather of Ashley, Emily, and John J. Short, and Steven, Sean, and Nicole McCarthy. Brother of Carol Hurley of Beltsville, MD, and the late Paul J. Short Jr.
Funeral service in the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Friday at 11 am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8 pm. Interment New Westwood Cemetery.
