Obituary

Annie O. DeWolfe, 92 of Derry, NH, died Sunday, March 20, 2005 in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center, Derry. Mrs. DeWolfe was born in Fortune Bridge, P.E.I., Canada on November 24, 1912, a daughter of the late Daniel R. and Ressa M. (Aitken) Burke. She was a former longtime resident of Londonderry, NH and prior to that had lived in Waltham, MA. As a young woman she worked in a needle factory making sewing machine needles. As a child it was Mrs. DeWolfe’s responsibility at home to take care of the family cats. She loved dogs, cats and cared for other animals..

She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Smith of St. John, New Brunswick, Canada and also by many close friends. She was predeceased in 1993 by her husband of over 60 years, George Clifford DeWolfe, three brothers, Ray, Lester and Clarence Burke and by three sisters, Alda Burke, Cora Edwards and Lina Keith.

There are no visiting hours. The burial will be held in the spring in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Londonderry. The Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH 03038 is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of New England, 24 Ferry Rd., Nashua, NH 03060 or to Rockingham VNA Hospice, 137 Epping Rd., Exeter, NH 03833.
