Obituary

Richard Mark Servoss, 92, of Greenville died Monday, June 8, 2015 in the Greenville Health Center surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Helen E. (Sullivan) Servoss.
Born in Buffalo, New York, he was a son of Robert M. and Lillian (Welch) Servoss. He relocated to Rhode Island and made his home in Greenville.
A graduate of Buffalo Technical Academy, and former member of the Knights of Columbus, Mr. Servoss served as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps during World War II where he was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries suffered on the “Eniwetok Atoll” in the Marshall Islands. Upon returning home, he was employed by the United States Post Office and the RISD Security Department before his retirement.
He is survived by his beloved children, William Servoss and his wife, Nancy of Burlington, Vermont, Elaine Servoss of Smithfield, Richard Servoss and his wife, Anita, of Smithfield, George Servoss and his wife, Gail, of Foster, Denise Servoss of Johnston, and Robert Servoss of Burrillville. Mr. Servoss was grandfather to five cherished grandchildren and devoted great-grandfather of four. He was also twin brother to Muriel K. Pieklik of North Hanover, New Hampshire.
His funeral will be held Friday, June 12th at 8:30am from the Anderson Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Visitation 4-7 pm Thursday, June 11th 2015.
