TEWKSBURY: Katherine A. Donovan, age 90, a former Charlestown, Arlington and Tewksbury resident, died Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Sunbridge of Portsmouth Nursing Home in Portsmouth, NH.
She was born in Boston on April 6, 1914, the daughter of the late John and Ellen (Sullivan) Donovan.
Miss Donovan was raised in the Charlestown section of Boston and attended Charlestown schools.
She later lived in Arlington for several years until moving to Tewksbury. While living in Tewksbury, she was a communicant of St. Williams Church.
Miss Donovan was employed as an administrative assistant in the credit department at Jordan Marsh Company of Boston until her retirement in 1980. She previously worked at the Rustcraft Card Company of Dedham.
Miss Donovan enjoyed visiting with her family and attending family gatherings.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews including; Sheila Dzieman and her husband Edward of Lady Lake, FL, Richard Whelton and his wife May of Wrentham, Kathleen L’Italien and her husband James of Rancho Santa Fe, CA and Paul Whelton and his wife Michaelene of Middletown, Delaware.
Miss Whelton was the sister of the late William, John, Thomas and Mary Donovan and Ellen “Helen” Whelton and the aunt of the late Michael and Thomas Whelton.
Calling hours Tuesday, March 22nd from 4-7 p.m. at the FARMER & DEE FUNERAL HOME, 16 LEE ST., TEWKSBURY. Funeral Wednesday, March 23rd at 9 a.m. from the funeral home. Funeral Mass Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
