Carol A. Willis Brooks, 57, of Tifton died Friday, June 5, 2015, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at Omega Baptist Church with Rev. Jackie Cabaniss officiating. Mrs. Brooks will be laid to rest at Omega Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 8, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mrs. Brooks will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Miguel Aguinon, David Medina, Ronnie Wells, Shane Lindsey and Juan Aguinon will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be former employees of Roses Department Store.
Mrs. Brooks was born January 29, 1958 in Tifton, the daughter of William Irwin Willis and Orma A. Hobby Willis, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Jerdon Brooks. She was a long-time employee of Roses Department Store. She enjoyed NASCAR, gardening and her family and friends.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kayla and Manuel Aguinon of Tifton; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Randal and Wanda Willis of Brunswick, Larry Willis of Tifton, Gary Willis of Lee County and Tracy and Lynn Willis of Acworth; one sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Bruce Fountaine of Milwalkie, Oregon; her special friends, Mary Wells, Maria Medina, Bernice Harper, Janet Henry, Juanita Terry, Shane Lindsey, Amy Gordillo, Lianne Aguinon, Jeanne Diaz and Bobbie Jean Garren; and several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to the Georgia Breast Cancer Coalition Fund, 8014 Cumming Highway, Suite 403-138, Canton, GA 30115; or the Georgia Spinal Muscular Atrophy Foundation, 1165 Shepherds Lane, NE, Atlanta, GA 30324.
