Obituary

…of Chelmsford, Tewksbury
TEWKSBURY - George A. Paquette, 69, passed away Friday morning, June 5, after a year- long battle with bladder cancer. He was born on September 5, 1945, son of the late Theodore and Marie (Berube) Paquette.
He was member of the Chelmsford High School class of 1964 and recently attended his 50th reunion where he enjoyed seeing his former classmates and friends. It was at CHS where he met and married his childhood sweetheart, Patricia Slater. Together they moved to Tewksbury to raise a family and start the Paquette Plumbing & Heating Co. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 10, 2015.
George was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, boating, fishing and clam digging. He also enjoyed "playing in the dirt". He had a green thumb and loved to garden. His dream was to build a log house in Vermont, which he did by hand, log by log. This provided many years of happy memories for family and friends. He will always be remembered as a hard-working, strong and courageous man. He will be deeply missed.
Besides his wife Patricia, he leaves a son Erik of Portsmouth, NH, a daughter Kimberly Servino and husband Richard of North Andover; four grandchildren, Samantha & Eliott Paquette from Maine and Olivia & Will Servino from North Andover. Also, a sister Jeannette McNamara and husband Robert of Dracut; mother-in-law Muriel Slater of Chelmsford; brother-in-law Robert Slater and spouse Wendy of CT; sister-in-law Cyndi Slater and partner Steven Burns of Amesbury and many nieces & nephews, wonderful friends, neighbors, extended Florida family and his morning coffee buddies at Richdale, who have been there throughout this difficult year. He was pre-deceased by his sister Irene, 3 brothers, Emile, Albert & Robert and his father-in-law Raymond Slater.
Relatives and friends are invited to George’s memorial life celebration on Monday, June 8, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts.
