Leonard “Lenny” Sutera, passed away at the age of 80. Born and raised in Boston’s North End, Lenny was an engineer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and worked in the bridges division. The son of the late Charles and Angelina (Scola) Sutera, Lenny lived in Medford for many years and enjoyed his winters in Florida. Lenny enjoyed boating and was a member of the Winter Hill Yacht Club. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his family and friends.
The beloved husband of “Jo” (Cantalupo) Sutera, he was a devoted father of Debra Marks and her late husband Joe, Michele Delsignore and her husband John, Robin Carney and her husband Phil and Lori Sutera and Joe Sabatino. He was a loving grandfather to Joe and Nick Marks; Philip, Lauren and Krista Carney; Nicole and Jake Delsignore. The loving great-grandfather of Gianna, Isabella and Angelo Carney, he was the brother of Beatrice Aragona, Marie Ganno, Charles Sutera and the late Andrew Sutera.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday June 8th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4 – 8 PM. Burial will be private.
