Obituary

June 4, 2015
Derry – Louise (Coleman) McNealy, 78, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness. Louise’s family spent her last days at her side - sharing stories, honoring her life and expressing their love. Born September 21, 1936 in Boston, MA, Louise raised her family of six in Dorchester, and resided in Derry, NH for the past 25 years.
Louise exuded youthfulness, and her family joked that she always had energy to go to the movies, the beach, or shopping at the mall. She was an avid reader, kept up with current events, and was known to share books with everyone. Louise loved gardening, and had a love for music, something she and her late husband shared with their six children. She loved to talk and made true friends everywhere she went. Louise spent much of her time volunteering and helping others, most notably through her time spent at Parkland Medical Center and the Oncology Department. She was devoted to her family, and frequently shared pictures of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Louise was predeceased by her husband, Walter McNealy, her parents, Francis and Mary (Corballey) Coleman of Dublin, Ireland, and five siblings, Joseph, Esther, Barbara, Betty, and Nancy, and her granddaughter, Lisa. She is survived by her three daughters, three sons and sons/daughters-in-law, Barbara (McNealy) and Sid Siegler of Charleston, SC; Michael and Diane (McCallum) McNealy of Derry, NH; Francis McNealy of Boston, MA; Deborah (McNealy) and Brian Sullivan of Derry, NH; John and Elizabeth (Rivitz) McNealy of Peabody, MA; and Laura (McNealy) and Gary Levesque of Derry, NH. Louise is also survived by her eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, family in Ireland that she also loved dearly, many friends and neighbors, and her church community at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry.
Following cremation, calling hours were held on Monday June 8, 2015 from 4 – 8:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry on Tuesday June 9th at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, Louise's family requests that friends consider a donation to ALS Foundation at www.alsa.org.
