TEWKSBURY, MA - AnMarie Bellofatto, age 82, a retired nurse, died peacefully, Thursday, June 4, at the Maple Leaf Nursing Care Center in Manchester, NH, following a long period of declining health.
AnMarie was born in Chelsea, MA, on May 31, 1933, one of three children of the late Alphonse A. and Lillian M. (Foley) Polleck. She was raised in Chelsea and Everett, MA, and lived in the Malden, MA, and Brockton, MA, areas the greater part of her life, and in her senior years lived in the Flucker Heights Senior Housing in Tewksbury. She retired to Manchester, NH, several years ago, and had been in residence at Maple Leaf Health Care Center since 2012.
She was trained as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Long Island Hospital, in Boston Harbor, and had worked at several Massachusetts hospitals before her retirement.
She was a devout Catholic, and a Sister of the Third Order, Society St. Francis, Province of Americas.
She is survived by five children, Maria Whitney and her husband Blaine of Norway, ME, Cheryl Barnard and her fiancé, James Tyeryar of Yorktown, VA, Carol Jones and her husband Jeff of Nashua, NH, Debra Tobin of Denver, CO, Joseph D. Bellofatto Jr., and his wife Christine of Clarksville, TN; a daughter in law, Tina Bellofatto of Manchester, NH, who is wife of her late son, Louis Bellofatto; seventeen grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; her brother, Albert Polleck and his wife Barbara of Tewksbury; a sister; Janet Flanagan of Tewksbury; her former husband Joseph D. Bellofatto, of Farmville,VA; and was also predeceased by her daughter, JoAnn Bellofatto.
Visiting hours Tuesday, June 9, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, ph (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. Her funeral will begin Wednesday, June 10, at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte.38) Tewksbury. Burial will follow at Tewksbury Cemetery.
