Mrs. Therese R. (Martin) Bourque, of Taunton, died Wednesday, June 3 in Morton Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Alyre J. Bourque. She was born 77 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Charles A. and Dora (St.Don) Martin. She was educated in Taunton and had been a city resident for many years before moving to Canaan, Maine 10 years ago, returning to Taunton several months ago. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a bus monitor for TCM Transportation. She was previously employed at Texas Instruments in Attleboro. Therese enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a communicant of the former St. Jacques Parish in Taunton.
In addition to her husband, she leaves: 2 sons: Alyre R. Bourque of Taunton, and Michael J. Bourque of Oakland, Calif.; 2 daughters: Claudette Halliley of Taunton, and Marie Bacon of Westbrook, Me.; 2 brothers: Daniel and Gene Martin, both of Georgia; 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Therese was also the sister of the late Alfred C. Martin and Paul Martin.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Monday, June 8 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in Mayflower Hill Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M.
