Kevin J. Mitchell 38, formerly of Nasonville, died May 30, 2015 at AnMed Health and Medical Center in Anderson , SC where he had been living for over a year. He was born in Woonsocket, a son of Elizabeth (Hebert) Hatzell of Nasonville, and the late Kenneth J. Mitchell. Kevin was a customer service manager for EyeFit in Bel Air, Maryland. Locally he had worked as an optical technician for Dr. Pam Sheffield, and a customer service representative for several area Financial Institutes. Kevin was a volunteer fireman for the Nasonville Fire Department, he was a Level 1 Firefighter and a Basic EMT. He also served as President of the Nasonville Fire Company. He had attended Roger Williams University. Kevin was a member of Young Democrats and ran twice for State Representative.
Besides his mother he is survived by a brother, Brendon Mitchell of Pascoag, a sister Kirstin Hatzell of Harrisville, his partner Joseph Gasco of SC, maternal grandfather Conrad Hebert of Harrisville, and his aunt Pamela Provost of Richmond.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Theresa’s Church, Dion Dr. Nasonville. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery in Woonsocket. Visiting hours are Sunday 3-7 PM.
