Elsie D. (Ferryman) Cadorette age 90, of Brockton died unexpectedly May 31, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert H. Cadorette for 56 years.
Elsie was born and raised in England, a daughter of the late Thomas and Isabella Ferryman. She came to the United States as a war bride in 1946.
For 30 years Elsie worked in the dietary department of the Brockton VA Medical Center and she was also a volunteer at the hospital. A longtime resident of Brockton, Elsie was a member of the VFW Post 1046 Ladies Auxiliary and the American Gold Star Mothers. She was also a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and a member of the Prayer Shawl group.
Elsie was the mother of Jean Emmons and her husband Roy of Middleboro, Philip Cadorette and his wife Lorraine of Brockton, Robert Cadorette of Brockton, Lisa Barnes and her husband Mark of Fresno, CA and the late Michael J. Cadorette killed in Vietnam in 1968. She leaves 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. She was the sister of Fred Ferryman of England.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (rte. 123) Brockton on Wednesday 4-7 pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30 am for a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10:30 am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Donations in Elsie’s name may be made to the VFW Post 1046 Ladies Auxiliary 283 N. Quincy St., Brockton, MA 02302.
