William 'Bill' Conway, of Abington, passed away peacefully May 31, 2015 at Blue Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton, Ma., at the age of 68 after a long illness.
Bill leaves behind his beloved wife, Cheryl. He was a loving father to his son, Jack, and daughter-in-law, Kate. He cherished being 'Grampa' to his two granddaughters, Mazie and Annabelle. He was preceded in his passing by his father, John; mother, Irene; and brother, John Michael, all of Queens, NY. He is survived by his cousin and lifelong friend, Rick Burns of New York, and many brothers- and sisters-in-law.
Born in 1946 in Queens, NY, Bill graduated from Catholic Memorial High School (New York) and earned a BS in Radiology from Northeastern University. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, providing aerial reconnaissance photographs during the Vietnam War. He dedicated the majority of his professional life to helping patients at South Shore Hospital, Harvard Vanguard (Kenmore Square), and Faulkner Hospital.
Bill planned to defer much of his life's enjoyment until after his retirement; due to the early onset of Alzheimer's disease, he never got to enjoy the time he spent his whole life working towards. Tomorrows are never a guarantee and time is a non-renewable resource - live each and every day to the fullest.
