William Bradford Merry

Evans, GA---Mr. William Bradford “Bill” Merry, 71, entered into rest on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Doctor’s Hospital.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Martinez Bible Chapel, 4352 Columbia Road, Martinez, GA 30907, original location of Westside Christian Church, with Mr. Barry Clanton and Dr. David McKinley officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
Mr. Merry was a lifelong resident of Augusta and the Augusta area. He was a graduate of Richmond Academy, Class of 1961 and a 1967 graduate of Augusta College and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He was a faithful Elder, Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at both Westside Christian Church and Grace Baptist Church and was a present member of Warren Baptist Church. Mr. Merry was owner and operator of Merry’s Trash and Treasures, since 1969 and was a passionate businessman and supporter of Downtown Augusta. He loved God, Family, Friends, Church and buying and selling furniture. He always put God and family first in his life and devoted his love and attention to meet their every need.
Mr. Merry was married for 43 years, to his high school sweetheart, help-mate and best friend, Bonnie Greer Merry, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Ira Bradford Merry and Emma Hughes Merry.
He is survived by his devoted and loving family, sons, Brad Merry and wife Casey of Evans, GA and Greg Merry of Martinez, GA, grandchildren, Emma Claire Merry, Sarah Anne Merry, Braden Merry, Holly Merry and Daniel Merry, all of Evans, GA, mother in law, Bonnie Holsenback of Evans, GA and his companion, Teresa Sparacino of Evans, GA, two half-brothers and two half-sisters, as well as other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Lynwood Smith, C. M. Corley, Larry Eads, Ed McCaslin, Nick Carter, Al Nelson, Richard Hillman and Richard Sammons. Honorary pallbearers will be the dedicated employees of Merry’s Trash and Treasures.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Platt’s Belair Road.
