
WORCESTER-Mary A. (Coyle) Loftus, 95, of 101 Chadwick Street, formerly of 4 Sherman Avenue, Auburn, died Friday, March 18th in UMass Memorial Hospital. Her husband Michael Loftus, died in 1990. She leaves a son Francis M. and his wife Nancy A. Loftus of Auburn, a daughter B. Mary wife of William Hanafin of St. Augustine, FL, 5 grandchildren Peggy McGraw, Brendon Hanafin, Susan Simmerman, Michael Loftus and Christine Lyman, 14 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law Annie Loftus in County Mayo, Ireland and many nephews and nieces here and in Ireland.
She was born in Ballinaglera, County Leitrim, Ireland the daughter of Michael and Bridget (McTiernan) Coyle and came to the United States in 1929. Mrs. Loftus had been a member of St. Joseph’s Church.
The funeral is Monday, March 21st from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford Street, Auburn. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 the morning of the funeral.
