Betty Jo Kirtley Goodnight passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 in the Baptist Memorial Hospital – N MS in Oxford, MS.
The visitation will be held on Friday, March 18, 2005 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Hopewell Baptist Church. The committal service will be Friday, March 18, 2005 at 2:00 pm in Hopewell Cemetery in Yalobusha County. The service will be conducted by Bro. Harvey Vance with David Thompson, Chris Shelton, Dewayne Potts, Kevin Chandler, Steven Wilson, and Matthew Wilson serving as pallbearers.
During her life Mrs. Goodnight served as a Homemaker, Hotel Manager, and Mechanic. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Yalobusha County.
Mrs. Goodnight is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ann Wilson of Gainesville, GA, a son, Willis D. “Patch” Goodnight, Jr. of Coffeeville, MS, Two Sisters, Garnet Ellison and Irene Sparks both of West Memphis, AR, four brothers, Bobby Gene Kirtley of Colorado Springs, CO, Billy Kirtley of West Memphis, AR, James Monroe Kirtley, Jr. of Salenas, CA, and Rocky Kirtley of Grand Prairie, TX, 8 Grandchildren, and 4 Great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Willis D. Goodnight, Sr. on September 18, 2004 and her parents James Monroe and Velma Greenfield Kirtley.
