AUBURN-Jeanne I. (Coyle) Leahy Walsh, 77, of 20 Windbrook Drive, died Wednesday, March 16th in Saint Vincent Hospital after a sudden illness. She leaves her husband of 25 years, Richard W. Walsh, 4 sons, Richard J. Leahy, Jr. of CA, Dennis M. Leahy of Fitchburg, Timothy A. Leahy of Worcester and James A. Leahy of New Bedford, a daughter, Kathleen Leahy of TX, a brother, Alan Hamelin of FL, a twin sister, Jane Grossman and sister, Beverly Monroe both of FL, 6 stepchildren, Donna Warren, Kathleen Lopez, Lynn Stuart, Kelly Turner and Michael Walsh all of Worcester and Patricia Lyons of Shrewsbury, 28 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces. A sister, Evelyn Casello predeceased her.
She was born in Auburn the daughter of William and Christine (Paradise) Coyle. Mrs. Walsh worked as a certified nurse’s aide for several area healthcare facilities including Saint Vincent Hospital, until retirement. In her retirement, she worked as a clerk at Price Chopper for many years until her death. She was a communicant of St. Catherine of Sweden Church. She enjoyed bingo and crocheting. Jeanne devoted herself to her children and loved spending time with her family. She lived life to the fullest and gave generously of herself to help friends in need.
The funeral is Saturday, March 19th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Avenue, Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Friday, March 18th from 7:00 until 9:00 PM in the funeral home.
