ORMOND BEACH, FL—Louis J. Gagnon, 81 years old, a longtime resident of North Billerica, and more recently of Ormond Beach, FL, died March 5th, at the Memorial Hospital in Ormond Beach.
He was born in North Billerica, on May 22, 1923, a son of the late Frank L. and Blanche R. (Hamelin) Gagnon, and was educated in the Billerica Schools.
Mr. Gagnon served in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Plunkett. For many years, he worked at the Pellon Corporation in Lowell, where he was a supervisor. Mr. Gagnon moved to Florida 17 years ago and enjoyed cross-stitching, needlepoint and bike riding.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Ruth E. (Stuart) Gagnon, of Ormond Beach, FL; two sons and daughters-in-law: David and Marion Gagnon, of North Billerica; and James and Patricia Gagnon, of Hampden, MA; one daughter and son-in-law: Jeanne and William Labonte, of Fruitland, FL; six grandchildren: Jennifer Colbert, Amanda Gagnon, Jill Romeo, Mark Gagnon, Jason and Russell Labonte; one great grandson: Dominic Romeo, Jr.; two sisters: Margaret ‘Peg’ Bean, of Chelmsford; and Gloria Fortin, of Lowell; also several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service in his memory may be held on Saturday, March 19th, at 11:30 AM at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Relatives and friends are invited.
