Obituary

Helen M. (Williams) Soule, 82 years, died Tuesday evening at the Colony House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Abington, after a period of failing health.

Born and raised in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Kiernan) Williams and was a graduate of the Jeremiah Burke High School in Dorchester. She had been a resident of Brockton since 1948 and after her husband’s retirement in 1973, moved to Nokomis, FL, returning to Brockton in 1981.

While a resident of Brockton she was active with her daughter’s Brownie and Girl Scout Troops, and with her husband in the VFW. She had also been a communicant of St. Edward’s Church. She enjoyed sewing and time spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter Dorothy Norton of Orleans, MA, one sister Margaret Grant of California, one brother Francis Williams of Florida, five grandchildren Melodie Marchand, Benjamin Norton, Joshua Williams, Jennifer Williams and Julie Williams, two great grandchildren Collin and Madeline “Maddie” Marchand, and many nieces and nephews.

She was the wife of the late William T. Soule and mother of the late Kathy A. Williams.

A Graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11am in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.

Directions to gravesite:

Enter Melrose Cemetery by the North Gate (closest to the Brockton Historical Society, big black sign with gold lettering) Once inside the gate follow the main road and take the first left. Once you have taken the left, the grave is located on the right hand side three sections up.
