Obituary

GRAFTON— Elizabeth Rose (Bean) Williams, 104 of 148 Pleasant Street South Grafton went to her Heavenly reward on March 9 at the Lutheran Home on Harvard Street in Worcester. Elizabeth was famous for her spunk, antics and sense of humor even riding horses at 102! She was the wife of the late Howard Williams for fifty six years. Elizabeth was a member of the First Alliance Church of Worcester where she taught Sunday school and was also known for her volunteer activities in support of the churches' missions.

Elizabeth was born in "Bean's Corner" of Jay Maine the daughter of Sherman and Minnie (Averill) Bean the fraternal twin of Isabelle. She attended Wilton Academy and then the Farmington Normal School which later became the University of Maine. After college Elizabeth taught first in Lexington Kentucky and later in Rockland Maine. She married the late Howard Williams in Jay Maine in 1926. She lived in Maine until 1933, moved briefly to Connecticut and finally settled in Massachusetts where she was a resident of South Grafton for forty-five years.

Elizabeth was predeceased by five siblings: Dearborn, Isabelle, Lucinda, Celia and Marguerite (Clarke). Elizabeth had eight children: Esther (Erlandson), Paul, Robert, David, Thelma, Martha, Roger and Daniel. She is survived by Robert, Thelma, Roger and Daniel, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great, great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, March 15th at the Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street in Worcester between 6PM and 8PM. The funeral will be held at Nordgren's on Wednesday March 16th at 11AM. Burial will be in the South Cemetery of Berlin Massachusetts at a later date.
