Elvira (Morgado) Cordeiro. Age 93. Wife of the late Manuel Cordeiro. Residence Somerset, Ma. Died Saturday at home. Born in Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel, Azores. Daughter of the late Antone C. Morgado and the late Diamantina (Massa) Morgado. She was a Somerset resident most of her life. Before retiring, she was a Seamstress for Beacon Mfg., Tick Tock Frocks and Cora Martin Mfg. She was a member of the Somerset Women’s Club. She was a member of St. Patrick Church, Somerset.
She is survived by One Son: David Cordeiro of Somerset, MA, Present Planning Board Member in Somerset. One Daughter: Vivian Amaral of Somerset, MA. One Sister: Amelia Correia of Somerset, MA. Six Grandchildren, Six Great Grandchildren and Several nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Daniel Cordeiro, former Water Commissioner in Somerset, and sister of the late Tobias and Herbert Morgado, Angelina Silva, Macy Silva, and Isabel Rego.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St., Fall River, Ma. on Wednesday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick Church, South St., Somerset, Ma. at 9:00 A.M.
