Judith A. “Judy” Powers, 67, of Londonderry, NH passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 27, 2015. She was born on November 16, 1947, in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of the late Dr. Paul and Dorothy (Seymour) Pettit. Judy was a graduate of Duke University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. She worked for the IRS for over 30 years, retiring in 2009 from the Andover, MA branch as the Chief for Planning and Analysis Staff. While working at the IRS, she met Pat and Alice, whom all three would soon become known as the “Three Musketeers.” They enjoyed traveling together, visiting casinos, and making many happy memories. And those who knew her could expect to see Judy with her usual staples: Original Cheerios, Skippy peanut butter, and Cherry Pepsi. An avid reader and contract bridge player, Judy was an active member of the Londonderry Rotary Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially their annual summer trip to Ocean City, NJ, where she had grown up.
She is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Judge of Londonderry, one grandson, Christopher Judge of Londonderry; one sister, Barbara (Pettit) Prasch of Canton, GA; two brothers, Dr. Paul Pettit of Loudon, TN and Randy Pettit of Marietta, GA; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, memorial calling hours will be Saturday, June 6th from 1 – 3pm with a memorial service at 3pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry.
